Museum of Florida Art - 600 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand. In 2002 the
Museum of Florida Art acquired a monumental copper sculpture which
was slated for demolition. Through the tireless efforts of many
museum supporters this significant Clarence Van Duzer sculpture now
stands outside the museum as a powerful element and addition to the
permanent collection. In celebration of this, Clarence Van Duzer
will exhibit scale models, maquettes, drawings and paintings from a
rich lifetime of creative endeavors. Commissions for public art
projects will be a main focus. This exhibition spotlights this
artist's accomplishments and gives the viewer a closer look at
some of the underlying principals behind monumental art. A
dedication for the out door sculpture will be held during the run
of this exhibit.
