CVB Works with OceanCenter and Local Partners to Attract Sporting Events

The Daytona Beach Area CVB, in conjunction with local partners, recently succeeded in bringing several high-impact sporting events to the area.

'Sports are an incredibly important part of our organization's focus,' says Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Convention Sales Director Sally Gardiner.  'We've worked very closely with the OceanCenter, the Daytona BeachResort & ConferenceCenter, the Wyndham Ocean Walk Resort, the City of Daytona Beach and many other local partners to attract these great events to the Daytona Beach area.  These events alone collectively represent approximately 2,730 room nights and an economic impact of $1.48 million -- and the value they represent in imaging for the area is beyond measurement.'

Upcoming sporting events booked through a cooperative effort between CVB and OceanCenter staff and area partners include:

The Cathe Nation Eggland's Best National Fitness Tour will be at the Daytona BeachResort & ConferenceCenter October 23-25.  Cathe Friedrich, a nationally known fitness guru, is inviting potential participants to a September 'Casting Call for Cathletes' to show off their step, kickboxing and weight lifting skills and determine who will be featured in the next Cathe fitness video.  For more information, visit
www.cathe.com.  To register for the event, visit http://cathetourdaytona.eventbrite.com.

Tickets may be purchased from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the OceanCenter box office (inside the facility's west concourse), at any Ticketmaster outlet, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000.
