So if you haven't selected a vacation spot yet, summer or winter, go online and check out Daytona Beach. You may be in for a big surprise.' - Betty Ryder, Journal Inquirer (North Central Connecticut), July 18-19, 2009
'The Marine Science Center, a turtle rehabilitation facility and bird sanctuary in Ponce Inlet, Fla., not only offers a chance to see amazing sea creatures, but it also educates visitors about coastal ecosystem preservation and helps them understand how their actions - like not properly disposing of litter - affect the environment.' - Tracey Teo, Atlanta Journal-Constitution/AJC.com, July 23, 2009
'This sunny oceanfront city boasts more than 20 golf courses that range from premier tracks to excellent, mid-tier courses whose green fees are generally under $40 with cart. Daytona is also the headquarters for the LPGA and golfers who want to play a trophy track will find it at either of the two LPGA International layouts, the Legends (Arthur Hills) and the Champions (Rees Jones). Among other first rate courses is Victoria Hills, an 18-hole beauty designed by Ron Garl, the same architect who crafted Taboo, in Ontario's Muskoka region.' - Donna Carter, Links for Women (Canada), 2009

Sales Manager Tara Hamburger is not pictured. The Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau was recently presented with Meetings & Conventions magazine's prestigious 2009 Gold Service Award.
Award winners for this honor are determined by Meetings & Conventions subscribers. Through totally unaided recall, these meeting planners voted for the top convention and visitors bureaus throughout the world and selected the Daytona Beach Area CVB as one of the best. This year the readers of Meetings & Conventions honored just 102 CVBs worldwide with the Gold Service Award distinction. Selections were based on key criteria including: professionalism of staff, support on hotels and site inspections, assistance with ground transportation planning, guidance on local attractions, and liaison with local venders and services.
All winning CVBs will be featured in Meetings & Conventions' Gold Service Awards issue, to be published this November.
'Customer service is extremely important to the CVB's meetings and conventions department and this recognition really speaks to our longstanding commitment to excellence,' says Daytona Beach Area CVB President/CEO Sharon Mock.
'To receive the Gold Service Award from Meetings & Conventions subscribers is truly an honor,' added Daytona Beach Area CVB Convention Sales Director Sally Gardiner. 'Our staff and our area partners have been working hard to introduce the Daytona Beach area to more planners as a desirable meeting location, and the word is definitely spreading.'
