The CVB contracts with Mid-Florida Marketing & Research to measure the economic impact of tourism and to gauge CVB programs and initiatives.

The impact of the area's tourism and hospitality industry is substantial. The area welcomes approximately 8.3 million visitors each year, with visitor expenditures now totaling $4.8 billion. In addition, the accommodations industry alone now pays $70 million annually in Volusia County ad valorem property taxes.
