The Travel Industry Sales (TIS) Department offers a variety of opportunities for members to actively get involved with the department and industry:

TRAVEL INDUSTRY SALES ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETINGS -

TIS Advisory Committee Meetings are held bi-monthly on the 2nd Thursday at 9:00 a.m. The meetings are held in the upstairs Boardroom at the CVB.Chamber. The meeting schedule is posted on the Our Organization tab on the CVB Web site. You will receiv updates on sales initiatives, results and future endeavors. Get to know your peers and introduce your product.

FAMS -

Familiarization tours are the top selling tool to highlight the destination and educate sellers of travel. The average visit can be 1 - 3 days. During the fiscal year all TIS members are given the option to sponsor or co-host accommodations, meals, attraction visits and network with visiting trade. The results have been effective with a significant increase in bookings and stimulated interest by the trade to acquire new product.

TRADE SHOWS -

The department participates at major trade shows to promote the destination and encourages local suppliers to attend if they have an appropriate budget. Please see the department's promotional calendar for specific dates. A show not to be missed is FLORIDA HUDDLE. You have a captured audience of international and domestic wholesalers and tour operators seeking only Florida information and rates for their clients. The department can help facilitate your participation.

SALES MISSIONS -

During the year the department actively targets the trade in Orlando. Appointments are scheduled and our area members are invited to join the staff. The CVB does an overview on the destination and partners get to share information regarding their product.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES -

Each year the department organizes an appreciation reception and presentation for the trade in Orlando. At a minimal cost, local area partners are encouraged to participate and establish a working relationship with the trade and share their latest product information. Last year's function was a tremendous success.
